Training Both Ends of the Leash
Comprehensive Dog Training Classes at Our Goodrich, MI, Facility
At Ugly Dog Daycare & Training, our family has decades of experience training dogs for all kinds of needs. But we don’t offer typical dog training classes with an endless supply of treats—we want your dogs to respect you and us without doing so just for the incentive alone. That means we’re also going to have homework for you! We offer obedience training, therapy dog training, and hunting dog training (with group classes coming soon),and we’re just as happy to accept dogs from all over the United States as we are to work with those in Genesee and Oakland counties at our Goodrich, Michigan, facility.

Our Programs
We’ll make sure your dogs will have plenty of time to play and socialize during their stay with us. Plus, if you’re using our boarding service, we can also train your dog if you wish.

Our Acceptance
We’re happy to accept dogs that have not been spayed or neutered! Just make sure they’ve had their vaccinations for rabies, distemper, and Bordetella.

Though your dogs won’t spend much time in their suites, they’ll be comfortable, happy, and healthy—all of our suites are designed to control contamination.

Can My Dog Get Trained?
Dog Training Classes for All
Decades of offering dog training services have taught theUgly Dog family many things, especially that all dogs will learn at different paces (which is a large reason why we recommend the four-week program). But our experience has also proven to us that dogs of all breeds and ages can be effectively trained—so, no matter what kind of dog you have or how many gray hairs are in its coat, bring it in! We also accept dogs that have not been spayed or neutered, dogs from outside our part of Michigan, and even dogs from the rest of the United States. We simply ask that you ensure your dog is up-to-date on its rabies, distemper, and Bordetella vaccines.

Ugly Dog’s Training Service
About Our Dog Obedience Training Program
Ugly Dog Daycare & Training offers several obedience training programs that include boarding and indoor/outdoor activities. We’re more than happy to work with your dogs on a day-to-day or week-to-week basis, but we strongly recommend our 30-day foundational program. That’s because it gives your dogs the best chance to not only acclimate to a new setting, but to also learn new verbal and physical commands more effectively. Here’s what to expect:
Board & Train Program Pricing
- 1-week: $495
- 2-weeks: $795
- 3-weeks: $995
- 4-weeks: $1,195 (Recommended Foundation Program)
- Daily Rate (Daycare + Training): $55
- Private Lessons: $55
Week 1
Your dogs will get to know our staff and our facility, understand that they’re in a good, safe place, and hit the ground running with basic verbal commands.
Week 2
We keep the dogs on a lead, but begin slowly moving away from verbal commands and teaching them how to recognize physical cues.
Week 3
At this point, we’re heavily relying on physical commands and getting the dogs more comfortable with cues they can see and feel.
Week 4
In the final week, we’ll take the dogs off of their leads and begin hands-free training with electric collars. We’ll also give the dogs’ owners free consultations about our training.
